Michael Todd’s Organic Lemon AHA +DMAE Toner Review

For the longest time, I did not understand the purpose of a toner. After trying a few different toners, I concluded toners were just another unnecessary “add-on” item. I bunched them into the class of items that skin care companies create to tempt the undisciplined shopper – you know, the class of items that are touted to be super beneficial, but really are the byproducts of a ploy to get us to buy more products. Quite frankly, I was convinced that toners were a skin care scam. After all, I tried a few that turned out to be completely useless. So, I ditched the trend until saw Jackie Aina’s video outlining the importance of toners.

On that day, I realized I was the problem and not toners. I failed to appreciate that different toners serve different purposes and that brand really does matter. The truth is some companies are just churning out products to keep up with the beauty trends, while others are really doing the work to figure out what formulas are best to address our skin woes. Armed with this newfound knowledge, I set out on a search to find a toner capable of addressing my skincare needs. I stumbled across Michael Todd’s OrganicLemon AHA + DMAE Toner and it has been hearts and stars since.

Why I chose Michael Todd’s Organic Lemon AHA + DMAE Toner?
Simple and short, I am on a journey to perfect skin. I want to go back to the days where I had super nice smooth skin – free of dark marks, hyperpigmentation, and cystic acne outbreaks.
Also, I was attracted to its ingredients. It contains:

  • AHA and DMAE. Combined these ingredients are great for improving the appearance of acne scars, improve elasticity, shrink your pores, and brighten dark marks
  • Aloe Vera juice and a bunch of antioxidants that are known to heal and improve the appearance of uneven tone and texture.

Price: 8.4 oz – $19.99

My Experience
My experience with Michael Todd’s Organic Lemon AHA + DMAE Toner has been pretty good. This toner has definitely improved the texture of my skin and reduced the appearance of my dark marks without changing my overall complexion, which is phenomenal. I love my complexion and I have been very intentional about finding products that would not alter my complexion.

BEAUTIES BEWARE:

  • This product does sting if you have open wounds – i.e. popped pimples – when you use it.
  • Also, I would not use this every day because it is incredibly potent and it you have sensitive skin, it can give you that raw exposed skin feeling. I used it once a day and every other day when I used it.

Is it worth the investment?
Yes, I would repurchase this item. Yes, it is a tad bit pricey, but if you are looking to address hyperpigmentation and dark marks this is a relatively affordable product that works. When I say relatively, I mean in comparison to the beauty companies with products retailing for prices north of $40.
